Critically acclaimed British singer-songwriter Rita Ora released a hot new single, “Heat,” this past Friday. It released on the same day as her performance at the World Pride Festival in Washington, D.C., which the pop icon describes as, “the perfect way to kick off the summer.”

Ora shared in a statement: I’m obsessed with this track, and honestly, I just wanted to have fun with it! It’s bold, cheeky, and totally drenched in golden, feel-good energy. For me, it’s all about celebrating freedom, joy, being unapologetically yourself and owning who you are!

“Heat,” was co-written with Australian superstar Troye Sivan and producer Peter Thomas (Selena Gomez, 5 Seconds of Summer, Olivia O’Brien). The high-energy tune is lined up to appear in Ora’s live set at Capital’s Summertime Ball on June 15th.

Featuring a ridiculously catchy chorus, a classic dance beat, and punchy, distorted piano chords, “Heat” has such an original electro-pop vibe that just makes you want to dance. Ora’s vocals oscillate between the powerful, anthemic chorus, sultry spoken verse, and feathery pre-choruses, compounding the sexiness and fun of “Heat.” It’s easy to imagine enjoying this song at a beach party, in the club, or a lip-sync battle on Ru Paul’s Drag Race.

“Heat,” is available to stream wherever you listen to music.
