Honey Revenge work through their “Trust Issues” on new single

Date:

In life, you can give. You can receive. Your journey will be full of ups and downs, people who enter your life and leave, feelings that come and go. And sometimes, our most exhilarating feelings come from loving and losing, as noted by Los Angeles-based duo Honey Revenge. In September, the team of Devin Papadol and Donny Lloyd will release their sophomore album, Loving and Losing, via Thriller Records. Fans have already heard teasers of the album from singles like “Poison Apple Baby” and “Run Your Mouth,” revealing the chaos, confidence, and catchy pop hooks that await. Overall, Loving and Losing’s singles have surpassed 9M streams, making the album a highly anticipated release.

Honey Revenge’s latest offering from the album is “Trust Issues,” an anthemic and punchy track that tackles self-doubt and uncertainty. It is equal parts punk and pop, built around an ‘80s-inspired production that will have fans jumping and moving and feeling. All the while, Honey Revenge drop small words and phrases that tie into the bigger picture of trust issues, such as “Mood swing / See-saw / Reoccurring freefall / Whiplash / Sea sick.” These off-kilter descriptions fuel the choruses, where we hear, “I can’t trust myself to tie my shoes / Oh, I think so much, I get confused / Misunderstood and misconstrued / Trust me, I got trust issues.”

About “Trust Issues,” Papadol explains,

“Not being able to trust others is debilitating, but what about not being able to trust yourself? I used to believe I could do anything I set my mind to, but over the course of the past two years, my confidence has been challenged at every turn. In my darkest hour, I didn’t feel like I could depend on my own judgment to make the most basic decisions. ‘Trust Issues’ delves into how I coped with that loss of trust.”

In the fall, Honey Revenge will take Loving and Losing on tour, where they will co-headline with Dead Poet Society. The North American tour will kick off on October 23 in San Diego and will conclude on November 25 in Anaheim. They will be joined by HUNNY and Broadside. Additional dates include appearances at the Vans Warped Tour in Orlando on November 14-15 and the END Cruise from January 22-26.
