Dutch-Surinamese singer-songwriter néomí has released her newest single, “Didn’t I”, following her acclaimed 2025 EP Another Year Will Pass.
The track marks a bold new chapter for the artist. It captures the crushing weight of carrying someone else’s baggage in a fractured relationship. néomí’s emotional vocals, mixed with her vulnerable lyricism, channel the soft heartbreak that comes from realizing when something is doing more harm than good. She shares more:
“It’s about being in a difficult relationship where you are being held responsible for your partner’s repeated attempts to sabotage things. You’re left wondering: ‘Did I do enough?’ or ‘Was I enough?’ – when in fact, those are the questions they should be asking themselves.”
“Didn’t I” is the exploration of letting go of guilt and learning to not only trust yourself, but to choose yourself. The artist uses sparse instrumentation to uplift the emotion in her raw vocals, creating a devastatingly beautiful, soft track that mirrors the song’s quiet introspection.
Following the release, néomí will be bringing her enchanting stage presence to a few headline dates across the Netherlands. Fans can find tickets here.
