A desperate plea for “Mercy”: PRESIDENT returns with a heavy new single

Date:

“Can you feel the rush?” This line perfectly encapsulates the ecstatic energy surrounding UK’s own PRESIDENT and their unforgettable new anthem titled, “Mercy.”

The anonymous multi-million streaming collective continues to push forward with heavy music, electronic symphonies, and a cinematic universe. They began their journey in 2025 with their debut EP, King of Terrors, containing the successful single “Fearless.” They then rang in a new era with “Angel Wings” just last month. Their newest song, “Mercy,” made its debut as they close out their time supporting Bad Omens on their Do You Feel Love? North American tour.

“Mercy” brings about a dreadful plea for salvation in the form of spine-tingling melodies, gritty and crushing guitars, and the shattering boom of the drums. In a press release, PRESIDENT had this to say about the latest single:

“Throughout history, religion has been tied to profound division and loss. this song is a reflection on that reality, and a way for me to come to terms with what it means on a human level.”

Such sentiment can be felt not only through the haunting, picturesque visualizer, but also within the desperation and frustration of the lyrics with lines like, “Mercy, mercy, in the name of the Lord / We’ll march until the message can be heard / It’s not enough, it’s not enough / it’s not enough for you to save me now / ’cause where was your hand when I was always screaming out? / Can you feel the rush, can you feel the rush? / Think I’m drowning in the blood of your empire.”

While waiting for more great music from the band, fans can look forward to an announcement coming Monday at 10 a.m. EST, most likely a tour announcement, based on this Instagram post. You can also still catch the ending to their The Campaign Trail European tour this April. Remaining tickets are available here.
