Moon Panda talks it out in new song “Butterknife”

Date:

Moon Panda is an indie dream-pop duo formed by songwriter and bassist Maddy Myers and guitarist Gustav Moltke. Their relationship inspires their music, from their gentle melodies to their introspective lyrics. Their new song “Butterknife” focuses on the complexities of love.

“Butterknife” is about balance in relationships. Through soft bass and gentle guitar, Moon Panda expresses the need for healthy communication between partners. Their lyrics show how love is a two-way street and needs both sides to work together to create a long-lasting connection.

Sharing more about “Butterknife”, Myers comments:

“‘Butterknife’ is a love song for those insecure moments in a relationship. It’s reassuring that the love is still there and there was never any need to question it. It was one of those songs that just kind of happens, is completely written in like 20 minutes, and just felt right. My favorite thing about ‘Butterknife’ is that the shaker at the end is played by our 1 year old baby – boy’s got pocket!”
