Emily Coupe Returns Home On New Single “On And On”

Date:

Australian singer-songwriter Emily Coupe is an artist to look out for in 2024. With her catchy hooks, intimate, compelling lyrics, and strong stage presence, she wants to take the year by storm. Her latest single, “On And On”, reflects her life during touring.

“On And On” highlights the changes Emily Coupe experiences on tour. Through heavy bass and steady percussion, she realizes her loneliness without her partner is unbearable, so she decides to go home and be with them. Emily Coupe expresses that while she enjoys touring, it can be isolating. Lyrics such as, “Now all my dreams are blooming, so why I feel this way / Coz if I knew the sacrifice, would I have chose to stay” show this back and forth between wanting to pursue her dreams yet feeling distanced from the people she loves.

Sharing more about “On And On”, Emily Coupe shares:

“I wrote this song a couple years ago, about the experience of traveling while performing, and missing the love I was leaving behind. Although it is really nice getting to follow your dreams, it can also be a lonely experience. This song talks about traveling/touring, performing on stage, and then missing my love, deciding that my proper place is home with him. Either to visit or end the journey altogether.”
