Lauren Spencer Smith continues to showcase relatability on “bridesmaid”

Date:

Lauren Spencer Smith continues to showcase relatability on her newest single, “bridesmaid.” “bridesmaid” is the third single off the singer’s forthcoming album, THE ART OF BEING A MESS. The single has the potential to become the next “Best Friend Breakup” anthem from her debut album, Mirror. Spencer Smith reflects on realizing that the girl who was once her best friend is no longer a part of her life. She sings, “Sharing secrets I still keep / Been so long that I forgot / All the reasons that we fought / I’m stuck with my regrets / Staring at your empty dress.”

The pop singer taps into childhood dreams of having lifelong friends stand by her side for such a momentous occasion. She’s found the love of her life, but there’s a bittersweet feeling knowing that there is a missing piece: “It’s funny how our lives changed / Tell me what was it for / When you said you’d be my best friend / You’d love me til the world ends / Now I finally found the man that I adore / But you won’t be my bridesmaid anymore.”

Spencer Smith is no stranger to writing a bridge that fans can sing along to and this might be her catchiest one yet: “Who’s gonna fix my hair and wipe the tears away / Who’s gonna hold my hand and tell me it’s okay / Who’s gonna stand behind me when I say I do / Oh it’ll be someone but not you.” This is definitely going to become a fan favorite at the live shows on The Art of Being A Mess Tour
