Australian singer-songwriter Jordan Anthony has released “Tell Me,” an anthemic pop record reminiscent of Shawn Mendes, where he expresses the frustration of receiving mixed signals from a new romantic interest.
The follow-up to “Reckless,” his synth-heavy R&B single, “Tell Me” is an uptempo guitar-driven song with an infectious sing-along chorus. In the bridge, Jordan begs for clarity, singing, “Can you tell me what you want to do? / I don’t want to read your mind and / I don’t want to keep on trying / Tell me, should I just stop fighting?”
Jordan explained the inspiration behind the universal message of the track, saying:
“It’s about wanting so badly to be with someone and knowing they want it too, but they’re holding back. At that point, you just want to say, ‘Please tell me if you want this or not.’”
At only 20 years old, Jordan was a contestant on The Voice Australia, finishing fourth, and American Idol, reaching the top 14. He has also represented his country in the Junior Eurovision Song Contest. Since releasing his debut single “Broken Love” in 2021, Jordan, now based in Los Angeles, has continued to build an international audience with a string of successful singles.
