In Her Own Words release sticky sweet new single “Sugarcoat”

Date:

In Her Own Words released their catchy new single “Sugarcoat” on May 30th via Thriller Records. The Los Angeles-based duo has yet again created a lively, feel-good pop-punk track that compels you to hit repeat all summer long.

The duo is most known for their creative ability to turn messy, complicated, and passionate feelings into a song worthy of being declared a certified earworm. “Sugarcoat” is another heavenly example of this that transports the listener into this world of infatuation. The song is the perfect embodiment of what it’s like to have someone on your mind 24/7. In Her Own Words summarizes,

“This song captures the rush of intense attraction, comparing it to the sweetness and addictive nature of a drug. There’s a constant internal battle between trying to stay detached and being completely consumed by thoughts of the person. The emotions are raw, impulsive, and hard to control, like a high that keeps calling back.”

“Sugarcoat” is a sweet sentiment that sees vocalist Joey Fleming racing through his thoughts about this girl with lyrics like, “She speaks and honey falls from her lips” and “She’s on my mind, on my couch, in the shower / I’m still thinking about her.” The song’s production is as sweet as its lyrics, with an addictive, pulsing rhythm for three minutes and 14 seconds straight.

In Her Own Words is currently on their Sticky Sweet tour with support from Emblem3 and glimmers throughout a few cities in the United States. Tickets and information for the remaining dates can be found here
