Dylan Ray shakes up his sound on “Weightless”

Date:

Texas artist Dylan Ray breaks into a new pop punk era with a cover of All Time Low’s 2000’s hit “Weightless”. The song starts out much slower than the original with only a soft guitar, gradually building until the chorus, when drums come in and the song picks up the tempo. Ray’s vocal style lends itself nicely to this change. After the beginning, the song remains relatively the same with minor changes to the instrumentals. Ray’s rendition of “Weightless” builds on what made the song catchy and memorable.

Transitioning from a more acoustic indie worship style of musicality into the pop punk scene, Ray is able to put his full skillset on display with this cover.
