Carol Ades is tired of spinning in circles — and she’s finally saying it out loud.
Rising LA singer-songwriter Carol Ades’ most recent single “Merry Go Round,” released Dec. 5, is an introspective indie-pop track that explores what it feels like to be stuck in a loop you’re finally ready to break.
She’s got a unique sound, blending soft, raw vocals with fun indie-pop production. It’s full of cinematic hooks and a coming-of-age movie feel. She explains it best herself:
“I wrote this song on a day where I was honestly just so over it all… I realized that if I wanted something to change, I had to change it, otherwise I’d be spinning in the same place forever.”
This release marks another step in Carol Ades’ rise in the indie/alt-pop landscape, where she’s carved her own lane defined by her unique songwriting. She’s also built her career through early songwriting credits for artists like Selena Gomez and Demi Lovato.
With over 12 million streams, a Lollapalooza 2025 performance, and tours with Lizzy McAlpine, Holly Humberstone, Suki Waterhouse, and The Aces under her belt, Ades is one of the most exciting new voices in the scene.
