Big Thief unveils new singles “Spud Infinity” and “No Reason”

This February, Big Thief will release their sprawling double album Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe in You on 4AD. A lot of these songs have existed in their live set for some time, and the band has already released a ton of material off of the twenty-song album. However, more Big Thief is always a reason to celebrate, and today the band has released two more tracks off of the forthcoming album.

“Spud Infinity” is a rambling romp that’s been a live favorite for some time now. With lead singer Adrianne Lenker’s brother Noah on the jaw harp and Mat Davidson providing the fiddle, the recorded version of this track unlocks yet another facet of the band that hasn’t necessarily been explored. “No Reason”, alternately, is a sweeping track of beauty that features Richard Hardy on flute that’s omnipresent in the song. This band gets better and more fascinating with each listen, and DNWMIBIY is shaping up to be a must-listen. Listen to both tracks below:
