Avery Lynch shares her pain in new song “Dead to Me”

Date:

Avery Lynch is a singer-songwriter based in Los Angeles who describes herself as a “happy girl full of sad songs.” She is known for her authentic storytelling interlaced with raw piano and gentle vocals. Her new song “Dead to Me” focuses on the pain of change.

“Dead to Me” is about growing apart from an old relationship. Through steady piano and soft vocals, Avery Lynch reflects on the past and present of a partnership she was once in. Her lyrics share the strong emotions that come with drifting apart from someone you used to be close with. Elaborating more on the inspiration for the single, she shares,

“‘Dead to Me’ is about a very close relationship I had with someone that I don’t know anymore. It’s about missing that person but coming to terms with how the version of them that I knew no longer exists. There’s comfort in knowing we’ve both changed, but it’s also strange and surreal to reflect on.”
