ATEEZ just had the biggest week of their career, and it came with a crown. GOLDEN HOUR : Part.5 debuts at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 dated July 11, handing the group their third chart-topper in the US after THE WORLD EP.FIN : WILL in 2023 and GOLDEN HOUR : Part.2 in 2024.

The numbers behind the debut are the real story. The mini album moved 228,000 equivalent album units in its first tracking week, with a staggering 223,000 of those coming from pure album sales. Both figures are career highs, and the sales number simultaneously put the record at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart. Globally, the album cleared a million copies within days of its June 26 release, per Hanteo, extending the group’s streak of million-selling first weeks.
The debut also breaks a three-way tie that chart watchers have been tracking for a while. Part.5 is ATEEZ’s ninth consecutive top 10 album on the Billboard 200, every one of them earned since 2022, which now gives the eight-member group the most top 10s of any group this decade. Stray Kids and TOMORROW X TOGETHER, previously tied with ATEEZ at eight apiece, are officially in the rearview.
For a sense of what they beat: Part.5 was the only new album to crack the top 10 that week, and it pushed Olivia Rodrigo’s you seem pretty sad for a girl so in love out of the top spot after a two-week reign, with Drake’s ICEMAN sliding further down the list. A K-pop mini album outperforming two of the biggest Western releases of the summer, in the same frame, is the kind of statistic that would have sounded like fan fiction five years ago.
The album itself leans into instinct over polish. Title track “BAD” is a chant-built, Latin-tinged earworm designed for stadiums, and it got a Hollywood cosign in the process: actor Chase Infiniti, a longtime ATINY (ATEEX fan), appears in the music video. The five-track set rounds out with “MAMACITA,” “TOXIN,” “Fallin’,” and “Body,” covering more sonic ground than its runtime suggests.
Worth acknowledging honestly: those 223,000 US sales were driven by 30 CD variants and five vinyl editions, stuffed with photocards, posters, and fun goodies. The variant economy is how modern K-pop chart wins get built, and critics of the practice will point to it here. But the counterargument is standing on a stage in London. Days after the album dropped, ATEEZ headlined BST Hyde Park, being just the third K-pop act ever to top the bill at the festival, with tens of thousands of fans shouting the “BAD” hook back at them. Photocards don’t fill Hyde Park; people do.
Eight years into their run, the self-styled pirates of KQ Entertainment keep finding new water. Three No. 1 albums, nine straight top 10s, a career-best sales week, and a European festival summer that includes headline slots in Poland, Istanbul, and Rome. The golden hour is running long, and nobody in ATINY is complaining.
