2hollis Is Finally Releasing “hurt,” the Song His Fans Have Been Begging For

Date:

The snippet era is over. 2hollis will officially releasehurt” on July 22, arriving with a music video and billed as Act I of something we’re not quite sure of.

If you’ve spent any time in 2hollis fan spaces over the past year, you already understand why this is an event. “hurt” has existed as a snippet since 2025, circulating through SoundCloud rips, YouTube uploads, and TikTok edits while fans ran what amounted to a sustained pressure campaign for an official release. Unreleased songs building cult followings is nothing new in the rage and hyperpop world, but “hurt” became one of those tracks where the demand got loud enough to feel inevitable. Now it’s real, and it comes with the Act I framing that suggests this is the opening move of something bigger rather than a one-off mercy drop.

The timing tracks with an artist who has spent two years refusing to slow down. Hollis Frazier-Herndon, the 22-year-old Chicago-born, LA-raised producer who started uploading as drippysoup back in 2018, has gone from SoundCloud curiosity to one of the defining figures of the electronic rage wave. He self-released Boy in June 2024, signed to Interscope that summer, opened Ken Carson’s Lord of Chaos Tour, dropped star in 2025, and turned a Lollapalooza set into one of that weekend’s most talked-about performances. Last month he brought the smudged eyeliner and strobe-lit chaos to Governors Ball, where his set was one of the clearest signs yet that this sound has outgrown the internet that birthed it. There’s a genuine case that no one in the scene converts online obsession into physical crowds more efficiently right now.

What makes “hurt” interesting beyond the fan service is where it might sit emotionally. 2hollis has been open about writing from the collision of love and pain, and the snippet’s melancholy streak fits the more vulnerable lane he’s been carving between the club tracks.

The video lands alongside the song on July 22. Whatever Act I turns out to be, we’ll have the full picture as it unfolds.
