For its 16th year, The Governors Ball returned to New York City’s Flushing Meadows Corona Park, bringing together more than 50 artists across pop, hip-hop, indie, rock, and K-pop for a packed three-day weekend. Headlined by artists such as Lorde, STRAY KIDS, Baby Keem, JENNIE, and A$AP Rocky, the festival once again transformed the iconic Queens park into a hub of live music, food, art, and fan experiences. Despite periods of stormy weather, the energy remained high throughout the weekend, fueled not only by standout performances but also by the excitement surrounding the New York Knicks celebrating their historic NBA Finals appearance (and subsequent victory). From major headlining sets to emerging local talent and immersive activations across the grounds, Gov Ball delivered another memorable chapter in its long-running history.
Here are some of the performances that stood out during the stormy but music-filled weekend.

Friday at Gov Ball offered a little bit of everything, with early-day performers setting the tone before a string of standout evening sets. KATSEYE drew one of the afternoon’s largest crowds (including an impressive number of younger fans) with polished choreography and dynamic performances of songs like “PINKY UP” and the ever-popular “Gnarly,” while The Dare turned the Snapchat Stage into a daytime dance party. Audrey Hobert continued her breakout year with a uniquely playful performance of “Sue Me” atop a trampoline, while King Princess and Del Water Gap provided crowd-pleasing sets that perfectly complemented the sunny afternoon.
As the day progressed, Pierce the Veil delivered one of Friday’s biggest performances, making a memorable Governors Ball debut in front of a packed crowd. Mosh pits and massive sing-alongs erupted throughout fan favorites “King for a Day,” “Bulls in the Bronx,” and “Emergency Contact.” That momentum carried into the evening with Baby Keem, who closed out the Snapchat stage with a high-energy performance backed by casino-themed visuals and intense bursts of pyro.
Lorde brought the festival to an emotional close with a visually striking headline set that balanced otherworldly production with an intimate connection to the audience. Highlights included the ever-popular “Royals,” a solo performance of “Girl, So Confusing,” the live debut of unreleased song “Don’t Look for Me, I’m Gone,” and a powerful rendition of “David,” accompanied by a massive “I DON’T BELONG TO ANYONE” banner that unfurled over the crowd. She concluded the night with a moving performance of “Ribs,” stepping down to the barricade to sing directly with fans, delivering one of the weekend’s most memorable moments.
Much like the previous year, Saturday was impacted by severe weather, with storm warnings looming throughout the day and ultimately forcing the festival to adjust its schedule. To help attendees exit safely before the worst conditions arrived, several evening sets were shortened or moved, including the cancellation of performances from acts like Kali Uchis and Amyl and the Sniffers. Despite the disruptions, Governors Ball adapted by bringing Major Lazer in to close out the Snapchat Stage, moving Blood Orange’s performance to Sunday, and shifting Stray Kids’ headlining set earlier while conditions were still favorable.
Early sets from Jade LeMac, Flowerovlove, and Wisp eased festivalgoers into the day, while 2hollis and Jane Remover brought a wave of alternative intensity with rowdy crowds, intense mosh pits, and a darker electronic edge that fit perfectly into the festival’s indie sleaze revival atmosphere.
Ravyn Lenae provided a joyfully upbeat set before the storms with one of the day’s strongest performances, blending neo-soul and pop while showcasing new material including the unreleased “Saturday Night.” As the weather continued to reshape the schedule, Major Lazer closed out the now-early evening with a booming EDM set on the Snapchat Stage for an enthusiastic crowd that could be heard across the park.
The night’s most anticipated performance came from Stray Kids, who made history as Governors Ball’s first K-pop headliner. Thousands of dedicated fans, known as STAYs, brought a unique energy to the festival through fan meetups, freebies, and community projects throughout the day. Performing as a septet due to member Seungmin’s recent injury, the group opened with “TOPLINE” and delivered an 18-song set featuring favorites like “S-Class,” “MANIAC,” “Thunderous,” and “MIROH,” complete with pyrotechnics, colorful smoke effects, and a firework-filled finale.
Sunday brought a strong finish to the weekend, as attendees returned to the park in good spirits despite ongoing weather disruptions. K-pop fans once again filled the grounds, many wearing BLACKPINK merch and accessories ahead of JENNIE’s highly anticipated evening performance. Earlier in the day, rising artists like Hemlocke Springs, Rachel Chinouriri, and Japanese Breakfast helped establish a carefree Sunday vibe. Michelle Zauner delivered one of the day’s best surprises – revealing her baby bump and jokingly introducing the track “Picture Window” by telling the crowd, “This next song is about my baby daddy!”
A brief weather advisory threatened to disrupt the day once again, but after a pause fans quickly returned to the stages in time for Slayyyter, who transformed the afternoon into a hyper-pop celebration with tracks like “CANNIBALISM!,” “BEAT UP CHANEL$,” and “CRANK,” inspiring one of the day’s loudest scream-alongs. The rescheduled Blood Orange also delivered one of Sunday’s most memorable performances, ending with the jubilant track “Champagne Coast,” while hometown favorites Geese earned a warm reception that included front-man Cameron Winter venturing down from the stage to meet fans at the barrier.
As evening arrived, JENNIE made history as the first K-pop soloist to headline Governors Ball, drawing one of the weekend’s largest crowds for a set that featured dynamic choreography, pyrotechnics, and arena-level production. The performance highlighted tracks from her latest album Ruby, including a special remix of “Dracula” by Tame Impala, and a custom streetwear-inspired outfit designed by New York-based brand, AWGE.
Closing out the festival, A$AP Rocky delivered a massive Don’t Be Dumb tour-inspired production. Opening atop a raised platform, he commanded a stage filled with dancers, fire effects, lasers, and a huge helicopter prop. Tokischa‘s surprise appearance onstage for the first-ever live performance of “FLACKITO JODYE” added to the excitement, while fan favorites like “A$AP Forever,” and “Fashion Killa” kept the energy high. Rocky even jumped down into the pit during “HELICOPTER” to finish out the song with fans at the barrier, bringing an explosive conclusion to the 2026 Governors Ball.

Beyond the music, this year’s Governors Ball highlighted the elements that have helped make it one of New York’s signature summer events. Between the festival’s wide-ranging lineup, fan-focused activations, sustainability initiatives, and support for local organizations, there was no shortage of experiences to discover between sets. While the weather added a few challenges along the way, it did little to dampen the enthusiasm of festivalgoers who filled Flushing Meadows Corona Park all weekend long.
