17 year old musician Alfie Templeman releases his fourth EP ‘Happiness In Liquid Form‘ today. With two singles crowned Hottest Record in The World by BBC Radio1’s Annie Mac, it is clear Templeman is only getting more impressive with every new release. In less than 24 hours, the EP is currently charting at 100 on iTunes albums and number 22 in alternative albums, available for purchase here. The EP-titled track Happiness in Liquid Form is undeniably the staple of the EP, with elements of older releases mixed with a fresh new sound that you can’t help but play on repeat. Things I Thought Were Mine has an incredibly catchy beat typical to all of Templeman’s tracks, yet still refreshingly unique and somehow similar to 8-bit game soundtracks. Maybe This Is Time manages to fit smoothly central in the EP, with a style reminiscent to previous EP ‘Don’t Go Wasting Time.’ Templeman himself naming it his favourite track of the EP in our interview. Obvious Guy remains uplifting and grips the listener with different beats and funky guitar, whilst the following Wish I Was Younger is a more fast-paced and groovy. However it still manages to eliquently tackle the difficulty in growing older and having more responsibly, despite the seemingly uplifting tone. My Best Friend closes out the EP in a slightly more dulled down track, with mysterious backing vocals from Templeman’s girlfriend Sitara. The feature from Coach Party also adds to the interestingly different track from Alfie.
