Anna Shoemaker announces new album ‘Back to Pennsylvania’ to drop mid-October

By Julia Torres

August 25, 2026

Indie pop artist Anna Shoemaker announced on Aug. 19 that her newest album, Back to Pennsylvania, will be released via +1 Records on Oct. 16. The announcement came via Instagram a day after she announced the title track, “Back to Pennsylvania,” and its music video.

The LP, which was written after Shoemaker moved back home to the Philadelphia suburbs, is described as a candid portrait of returning home.

Back to Pennsylvania feels a bit like the calm after a storm. It’s about reconnecting with yourself and getting back to your roots (in my case, going home to PA),” Shoemaker said.

“’I didn’t plan on losing everything, you’re never planning for the ship to sink’ is one of my favorite lines from the title track. The album is about what happens after the wreck— when you’re left gathering the pieces and trying to find your way back to yourself.”

The album will be released on colored vinyl with a limited number of signed copies available through the web store via Vertigo Vinyl. Pre-orders are available here
