Arizona rock quartet Jimmy Eat World is celebrating the anniversaries of their fifth and tenth studio albums titled Futures (2004/Interscope Records) and Surviving (2019/RCA Records), respectively. They will unveil reimagined vinyl releases on Oct. 18.
Alongside the announcement, Jimmy Eat World will mark their anniversaries with a special One-Night-Only hometown performance on Oct. 17 at The Van Buren in Phoenix, Arizona. They will perform Futures in its entirety during their only hometown show of 2024. Tickets went on sale today, and you can purchase them here.
To commemorate these milestones, the band has made Futures: Phoenix Sessions (Chapter V) and Surviving: Phoenix Sessions (Chapter X) available on vinyl for the first time. For the entire playlist of the show, you can watch it here.
Self-produced by Jimmy Eat World and mixed by Jim Adkins, both limited-edition releases were recorded live during the band’s 2021 Phoenix Sessions at the Icehouse in Phoenix, Arizona, as part of their partnership with Danny Wimmer Presents.
In a press release statement, the band wrote:
“We pushed through and ended up with an album we are super proud of to this day. Being able to reimagine it as a live recording so many years later for the Phoenix Sessions was an amazing experience, and we hope you enjoy reliving it again as much as we did.”
The band also unveiled Clarity: Phenix Sessions (Chapter III) in February 2024 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of their third album, Clarity (1999/Capitol), which will be in a limited edition two-LP pressed on sun-kissed colored vinyl. You can order all three chapters on their website here.
