Friday night felt like a celebration at HISTORY in Toronto as Ruel took the stage before a sea of eager fans as part of his Kicking My Feet Tour, supporting his latest release Kicking My Feet.

Bursting straight into “Only Ever,” “Not What’s Going On,” and “Dazed & Confused,” Ruel wasted no time lighting up the room. Fans screamed every lyric back at him, dancing without hesitation. Marking his return to Toronto after several years, the excitement in the venue was undeniable. At one point, looking out to the audience, he smiled and said: “A majority is new faces, that is great to see, thank you so much. I’m gonna play some new songs, I’m gonna play some old songs… This one’s a newbie,” before launching into “I Could Die Now.”

Ruel’s setlist moved effortlessly between older fan favorites like “Younger” and “Painkiller” and newer material, bringing a perfect balance between nostalgia and fresh tracks. His vocals were as smooth and controlled as ever, delivering each note with ease while pacing the stage, feeding off of the crowd’s energy and giving it right back.

By the time the final song came along, Ruel has stepped fully and confidently into a new era: one backed by an ever-growing audience ready to follow him wherever he goes next.
