David C. Clements‘ latest single, “Reckless,” can be best described in three words: eerie, dreamy and sad. Clements who was formerly the lead singer of Two Door Cinema Club in 2022 during their South American festival run, is a Northern Irish indie-rock artist, released his debut album The Longest Day In History eight years ago; he returns with a haunting richness with “Reckless.”
Despite his eight-year hiatus, Clements yearns for a “love that is reckless,” describing a desire for deep passion in life. The song features a soulful crescendo and Clements’ gentle, smooth vocals, delivering introspective lyrics like, “I will love you to the day I’m dead.”
“I began writing Reckless after moving my childhood upright piano into my house. It’s an all encompassing song about love. To love and be loved. The highs, the lows and the joy of the normalities of everyday life.”
Clements’ “Reckless” return is a soulful piercing track that doesn’t shy away from vulnerability, encompassing this melancholic indie-rock feeling that soars throughout the track.
