Pantera Celebrate their Legacy at Bridgestone Arena

Date:

In Nashville, TN on February 9th, 2024, the Pantera 2024 North American Tour, featuring Lamb of God and Nest, made a thunderous impact at the Bridgestone Arena. This tour pays homage to the metal band’s legacy, celebrating its iconic status, and honoring the late Dimebag Darrell and Vinny Paul. Aptly tagged as “For the Fans. For The Brothers. For Legacy,” the tour fully lives up to its promise.

Kicking off the night, St. Louis death metal band Nest set an electrifying tone with rapid progressions and intense screams. Their performance, marked by a purposeful energy, captivated the audience from start to finish, living up to the endorsement from metal legend Phil Anselmo.

Following Nest, the legendary Lamb of God from Virginia took the stage. Opening with the fan-favorite “Momento Mori,” they delivered a relentless set that kept the crowd fervent throughout. Frontman Randy Blythe and the band maintained an intense presence, with Blythe even taking to a high-rise platform while drummer Art Cruz showcased his impressive drumming skills and taking a leap that would have buckled the knees of a regular human. The night concluded with Lamb of God’s hit “Redneck,” dedicated to the late Vinny Paul and Dimebag Darrel.

The headlining act, metal gods Pantera, paid a touching tribute to Dimebag and Vinny before launching into an epic setlist. Bassist Rex Brown and lead singer Phil Anselmo, joined by legendary guitarist Zakk Wylde and drummer Charlie Benante, formed a supergroup lineup. The setlist featured classics and a rare performance of “Floods,” adorned with a heartfelt memorial to the late band members. As the iconic Pantera metal sign illuminated during the performance of “Walk,” the stage erupted in pyrotechnics. The 13-song set concluded with the powerful “Fucking Hostile,” ensuring the crowd remained lively from start to finish.

Pantera’s 2024 tour not only showcased the enduring power of the band but also served as a special night for fans, celebrating the legacy and lives of past members. The stellar lineup and dynamic supporting acts solidify this tour as a must-see for genre enthusiasts. Here’s to the hope that Pantera’s legacy continues to melt faces for years to come.

Pantera’s North American Tour continues through February 27th of 2024.
