Fozzy Shines the Spotlight on Chattanooga

Date:

The North American leg of Fozzy‘s Spotlight Tour commenced on October 19th, 2023, in Chattanooga at the Barrelhouse Ballroom. The event featured a remarkable lineup, including Seventh Day Slumber, The Nocturnal Affair, and Magdalne Rose. Together, these four bands delivered a high-octane evening of rock and metal, occasionally infused with heartfelt moments, thanks to the inspirational touches from Seventh Day Slumber and Magdalne Rose.

The night opened with The Nocturnal Affair, who set the tone with their explosive performance, characterized by dark rock and alternative riffs. Their moody vibe and captivating stage presence had the audience ready for what was to come. The only restraint was the venue’s no-moshing policy; otherwise, the crowd was primed for circle pits, given the band’s high-energy show.

Magdalne Rose followed with an unexpected twist of Beautycore and thrilling the audience with metal screams. Notably, guitarist Weston Evans and drummer Blaise Rojas played double duty, as they were also part of Seventh Day Slumber. Between songs, Magdalne Rose took a moment to share an inspiring message about redemption and her battles with mental health issues, leaving a powerful impact on the crowd.

With Magdalne Rose’s set complete, Joseph Rojas and Ken Reed took the stage as Seventh Day Slumber. The Christian rock band delivered an epic performance that further fueled the audience’s anticipation for the main event. Joseph took the time to speak about his faith, personal transformation, and the strength he found to overcome his demons. The band left a lasting impression, engaging both their existing fans and creating new ones.

Finally, Fozzy graced the stage amidst thunderous applause and chants of “Fozzy! Fozzy! Fozzy!” as they opened up with their newly released single “Spotlight”. Their energetic performance and stage presence harked back to the glory days of 80s hair metal bands. Each band member radiated infectious energy, with drummer Grant Brooks pounding the drums, bassist P.J. Farley and rhythm guitarist Billy Grey feeding off each other’s energy, and lead guitarist Rich Ward captivating both the audience and photographers with a hyperactive swagger. Chris Jericho, with his larger-than-life personality, entertained with the same charisma he carries into the wrestling ring or onto the stage. Fozzy, as a collective, are consummate entertainers, and their opening night on the North American tour was nothing short of spectacular.

Fozzy’s Spotlight on North America Tour had a spectacular start that promises to only get better as it travels across the country. With such an incredible lineup, this live music experience is highly recommended. As the tour progresses, be sure not to miss this amazing show!

Fozzy’s Spotlight on North America tour continues through November 6th of 2023.
