Kristin Carter displays pure resilience in “I’m Still Here” music video

Date:

As a country artist, Kristin Carter achieved much acclaim with her soul-baring lyrics and ardent vocals. In 2019, she released the country-pop hit “KARMA,” which became her first single on the radio. It went on to reach #18 on the Canadian country charts and receive over a million streams. Overall, Kristin’s first five singles raked in over 3.8 million streams, making her a dynamic force in the music world. Kristin then took some time away but returned last year with “I’m Still Here.” The single leaned into the pop aspect of her music, setting the tone for her debut album, Full Bloom. This album will be released in the spring of this year and will begin a new chapter for Kristin as a contemporary pop artist.

In the newly released music video for “I’m Still Here,” Kristin flaunts the empowering and resilient messages of the song. Under the direction of award-winning filmmaker Eva Tavares, Kristin is transformed into a statue, standing tall and graceful in a garden. As she sings, time passes by, enshrouding Kristin in green foliage or winter snow. The visual, paired with lyrics like, “I will be the one to save me / You can never erase me / Now the dust has finally cleared / And I’m still here,” make for an incredible snapshot of endurance. You can check it out below.

Telling us more about the video, Kristin explains,

“When I shared this song with Eva, she developed the idea of a forgotten statue as a metaphor for the son’s message of resilience and strength – a figure that could invoke sadness and poignancy at first glance but ultimately awe at its continued survival. With a gifted team surrounding us, we used this vision as a means of reflecting the strength of the human spirit.”

You can listen to “I’m Still Here” on platforms like Apple Music, Spotify, and SoundCloud.
