R. City Returns with Monumental Mixtape – This Is Not A Drill…This Is Really Happening!

Date:

R. City is a duo made up brothers Theron Thomas and Timo Makaveli. Known for their Billboard Hot 100 charting anthem “Locked Away” featuring Adam Levine, R. City has collaborated with a plethora of contemporary artists. They’ve worked with names including Drake, Rihanna, Usher, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber, and Ariana Grande. They’ve keep fans in limbo waiting on the next R. City masterpiece, and now, listeners can get a taste of their new mixtape, This Is Not A Drill…This Is Really Happening!, for themselves.

The mixtape merges influences of UK Drill with island-inspired sonics that celebrate their identity as proud Virgin Islanders. Over heavy hits of 808s, lush, tropical atmospherics, and beats that reverberate like an earthquake, This Is Not A Drill…This Is Really Happening! will absorb you in an illusive daydream. The mixtape features “Santo”, an exotic party anthem that muses on tequila and Lamborghinis. “WAPA” is track that celebrates the Caribbean spirit with intimate windows inside the island experience. “Kiebo” is a designer-drenched heavy-hitter that ruminates on feeling yourself and looking good. All in all, This Is Not A Drill…This Is Really Happening! offers a redefined take on UK Drill with infectious rhythms that stay stuck on your mind long after the music is over.

Revealing more on the project, R. City admits, This Is Not A Drill…This Is Really Happening! is the title for our drill tape because we’ve been promising our fans music for years and we wanted them to know, we ain’t bullshitting this time. We coming.”

R. City has been at the helm of recent releases including Lil Durk / J.Cole #1 summer hit “All My Life”, Ciara’s “How We Roll” with Chris Brown, and Jung Kook and Latto’s “Seven”. Additionally, they’ve worked on two Grammy-nominated albums including Rihanna’s Unapologetic and Ariana Grande’s My Everything. This Is Not A Drill…This Is Really Happening! is their latest release.
