Lockyer Boys take a chance on “DRIVE!”

Date:

The sibling-band thing has its plusses and minuses, but at the end of the day, it is the music that comes out on top. For brothers Will and Charlie Lockyer, better known as Lockyer Boys, playing music together was something that came at an early age. This explains why they have come so far in such a short amount of time. At only 21 and 19, respectively, Will and Charlie have already worked with Grammy-nominated producers like Jeff Dawson (Daniel Powter) and Mikal Blue (OneRepublic), and have performed sold-out shows with Fefe Dobson, Loverboy, and Barenaked Ladies. For their new single, the boys teamed up with Alan Poettcker (These Kids Wear Crowns) to give us a radiant slice of synth-pop that will encourage anyone to get behind the wheel and take charge.

Containing a fast-paced energy and vibrant pop melodies, “DRIVE!” takes listeners on a smooth cruise around the block. Over the peppy synth work, Lockyer Boys share a story about taking a chance and moving forward with no hesitation. We hear, “Why can’t I talk to you? / Why can’t I make a move? / No more, I won’t do it again / Full speed, go 100% / Drive! / No, I’m not letting you walk away this time,” which could be applied to any relationship or challenge. You can check it out below.

Telling us more about “DRIVE!” Lockyer Boys share,

“‘DRIVE!’ is about taking your shot, much like we are doing with our career. It’s about being confident, brave, and giving 100%. We think it ties into our overarching theme of spreading positivity and inspiration, but it can also be interpreted as a love song.”

You can listen to “DRIVE!” on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
