Emma Campbell releases “What I Need”

Toronto born singer/songwriter Emma Campbell releases her latest single ‘What I Need’.

‘What I Need’ is a track that reflects Campbell’s longing for affection. Created at the end of 2022 with producer Ben Heffernan, the song is an upbeat acoustic-pop track with comparisons to Lizzy McAlpine and Phoebe Bridgers. Campbell shares her desire for reciprocated feelings and romantic connections In her final lyrics of ‘ What I Need’, “will I ever get a piece of what I need?”

Tongue Tied Magazine wrote that “Emma Campbell is releasing music that is vulnerable and is spelling out emotions some of us can’t even begin to express with words”.


Campbell has spent most of her 21 years of life making and performing music. Campbell has been singing, playing piano and eventually at the age of 13 picked up the guitar.
Releasing her debut single, “Freezing”, in August of 2020 and less than 10 months later, she released her second single, “Understand”. Following today’s release, pop-folk artist Emma Campbell has two singles set for release in early 2024.
