A few weeks ago, Icelandic pop singer Heidrunna released the glossy “Borderline,” which served as a follow-up to her debut single, “You Make Me Feel.” Both tracks showcased her whimsical vocals and opulent sound, which pays homage to classic pop tunes of the 80s. As Heidrunna gets ready to release her debut album next year, she is taking up various opportunities to get her name out there. One of these opportunities comes in the form of remixing “Borderline” with multi-instrumentalist NZCA LINES.
On “Borderline (NZCA LINES Remix),” the two eclectic artists take a flawless track and make it even better. Preserving the original melodies and graceful vocals, NZCA adds shimmering ripples of sound and groovy bass to give it a modern feel. In doing so, NZCA elevates the feel and lighthearted nature of the original, making it even more powerful. You can check it out below.
The remix comes before the release of Heidrunna’s debut album Melodramatic, which is due out next year. Acclaimed producer Liame Howe, who has worked with the likes of Lana Del Ray and FKA twigs, crafted the album with Heidrunna, ensuring an exhilarating debut. Details as to the album’s release date are still TBA.
You can listen to “Borderline (NZCA LINES Remix)” on platforms like Apple Music and Spotify.
