Top 5 must see artists at this year’s Outside Lands festival in San Francisco, CA

San Francisco’s annual music festival Outside Lands is scheduled to happen on October  29th, 30th, and 31st, and there are a lot of amazing acts see at the Halloween weekend festival. The lineup has amazing headliners such as The Strokes, Lizzo, and Tame Impala with direct support from artists such as Tyler, the Creator, Glass Animals, Vampire Weekend, Zhu, Young Thug, J Balvin, Rufus Du Sol, and Kehlani. With dozens of amazing artists you already know of, another important part of the festival is the up-and-coming artists!.

Here are our must see artists for Outside Lands festival that you may have not heard of (but soon will)!

#1 Band: ODIE

Listen: North Face, Little Lies, Bliss City

Bio: ODIE is an artist who combines hip hop and R&B with nods to his Nigerian Heritage. His gentle vocals, creative lyrics, and amazing production create amazing songs such as “Little Lies”. His debut album Analogue came out in 2018 and was almost completely produced in his bedroom.

#2 Band: Sofi Tukker

Bio: Sofi Tukker is a duo formed in 2014 from New York who specializes in eccentric dance beats. Their individual backgrounds in West African drumming and Portuguese vocals blend with club beats to create truly unique songs. Their debut single “Drinkee” was also nominated for a Grammy. The pair consistently releases new inspired singles that quickly become dance hits.

#3 Band: Claud

Bio: Claud is a Brooklyn-based singer/songwriter known for synth-based indie pop. Their lyrics are driven by personal experiences, which makes the songs feel more intimate. Debut album ‘Super Monster’ came out in 2021 under Phoebe Bridgers’ label Saddest Factory and featured artists such as Clairo and Jake Portrait. Their success with this debut album definitely leaves something to look forward to for future releases.

#4 Band: Boy Pablo

Listen: Everytime, Losing You, Dance, Baby!

Bio: Boy Pablo is an indie rock band fronted by Nicholas Munoz, who writes, records, and performs all of the music in the studio. The other musicians are touring em members who bring the songs to life on stage. The band had a breakthrough in 2017 when the song “Everytime” went viral after being posted online. Their latest project ‘Wachito’s Self-Care Tape’ was a heartfelt EP that came out in June of 2021.

#5 Band: Mxmtoon

Bio: Mxmtoon is an indie-pop singer/songwriter who has a large online presence. Born in California, the 21-year-old Asian-American singer writes personal songs that are driven by her ukulele skills. Her debut album The Masquerade came out in 2019 and boasted hits such as the viral song “Prom Dress”. Her latest release, the album Dawn & Dusk, shows how much she’s grown and improved on her teenage sound.
