When we last heard from Maggie Lindemann, she was busy hiding a knife under her pillow, and keeping her inner demons at bay. We thought all was good, but it turns out that Maggie is not done fighting crime just yet.
On her new single, “GASLIGHT!,” Maggie teams up with Siickbrain to recount another chilling tale. The two dive into the twisted world of “gaslighting,” touching on all of the pain and manipulation that it involves. Usually, one person in a relationship will say something convincing or do something alluring to the other, sparking their fire and making them feel attacked. It is a very complex and detrimental situation, which is why Maggie and Siiickbrain are ready to take revenge.
As we listen to the pop rock track play out, we feel completely engrossed by the energy and emotion that comes through. It is so easy to get lost in the salty sweet vibes, and the way that the track tends to mess with our minds. Maggie conveys such alluring lyrics in her verses, singing lines such as, “Baby, are you lost or just lost in the moment” and “Baby, are you lonely or just lonely for me,” while Siiickbrain goes in for the kill with the choruses. By the time the track ends, you will want to get out there and take control.
