Recent News: Will release her third studio album Ricochet on March 27.

Through her use of twinkling, ’90s rock-inspired guitar sounds and incredibly introspective songwriting, Snail Mail — the musical project of Lindsey Jordan — has become a staple in the “sad girl rock” sphere. While Jordan cemented herself as an indie music trailblazer with the release of Snail Mail’s 2018 debut album Lush, she faced great success long before their inaugural full-length release. After releasing their debut EP Habit in 2016, Snail Mail played alongside the likes of Screaming Females, Waxahatchee and Girlpool before landing a slot on NPR’s Tiny Desk Concert series in 2017. Lush gave Snail Mail great critical acclaim, which continued with the subsequent release of her sophomore album Valentine in 2021.

Now, Jordan prepares for the release of her upcoming third studio album, Ricochet, arriving March 27 through Matador Records. Nearly five years have passed since Valentine, and Jordan has spent this time honing in on what might be Snail Mail’s most self-reflective body of work to date. Ricochet arrives at a time when Jordan looks back on a decade of working in music, and within the album, Jordan takes this pivotal moment to reflect on not only her place in indie music but also her greater standing in the universe at large.

Since the release of Valentine, Jordan has spent the last half of a decade reflecting on her Roman Catholic upbringing and exploring their own thoughts on life, death and what comes after. The final result is a profound work like Ricochet, where singles like “My Maker” and “Dead End” balance both existential worries with a charming sense of curiosity and wonder.

Following the release of Ricochet, Snail Mail will hit the road for an extensive tour across North America, Europe and the U.K. this spring and summer. From April 10 through May 15, she will make her way through the U.S. before picking up the tour once more on June 18 to bring the tour overseas to Europe and the U.K.

Known for her signature ’90s rock-flavored artistry, Snail Mail is a project that’s just as impactful as it is unforgettable. On Ricochet, Jordan is seeking answers to life’s greatest mysteries, doing so with undeniable whimsy and imagination. Lifting heavy subject matter up with lush instrumentation, there’s no denying that Snail Mail’s upcoming full-length record will be their most thoughtful yet.
