Although she’s only 21 years old, Canadian singer-songwriter Lauren Spencer Smith has been labelled by many as pop music’s next big star, and right has faced massive success right from the start of her career. After releasing her debut album Unplugged Vol. 1 in 2019, the record earned her a Juno Award nomination and Smith took the next logical career move — earning a spot in the Top 20 on the eighteenth season of American Idol.

In 2022, Smith found even more fame when two of her singles, “Fingers Crossed” and “Flowers,” went viral on TikTok and topped international charts. Both singles were featured on Smith’s 2023 debut full-length album, Mirror, which earned millions of streams following its release. Now, Smith shows no signs of slowing down on her chase to superstardom as she prepares to release her sophomore album THE ART OF BEING A MESS on June 27.

Admittedly serving as the soundtrack to her life, Smith has released three singles ahead of her new album, including “Pray,” “IF KARMA DOESN’T GET YOU (I WILL),” and “bridesmaid.” THE ART OF BEING A MESS conveys a heightened maturity from Smith as she remains true to the signature vulnerability and heartfelt lyricism she has become known for. Delivering complex and deeply personal stories about toxic relationships, friendship breakups, and everything in between, THE ART OF BEING A MESS is an emotional and musically diverse body of work whose content is further amplified through Smith’s remarkable vocal capabilities.

Following the release of her new record, Smith will embark on a world tour in support of THE ART OF BEING A MESS. Beginning in September, Smith will tour throughout Europe, the U.K., and Australia this fall. After taking a few months off, Smith will pick up the tour again in February 2026 to embark on the North American leg of the tour, playing her way across the U.S. and Canada.
