Natalie Jane mourns what was supposed to be hers on “fallin”

Date:

Natalie Jane’s latest single “fallin” arrives just in time to claim its spot as this summer’s ultimate glittery heartbreak anthem. Blending early 2000s club energy with a modern twist, the track turns a love triangle into a high-gloss, feel-good dance-floor confession. From the moment Natalie opens with the biting line, “She looks so cute in your favorite sweater / but I promise you I would wear it better,” her gospel-tinged vocals elevate the emotional stakes before diving into a euphoric beat reminiscent of Cascada’s early 2000s club era.

A funky trap-infused bridge slows things down just enough for Jane to get vulnerable—“Lips, eyes, supposed to be mine / her life, that’s supposed to be mine”—before ramping right back into bad-girl euphoria. It’s the kind of emotionally layered pop that echoes what artists like Tate McRae are championing: confessional, catchy, and impossible to ignore.

The music video, shot entirely on a retro camcorder, captures Natalie running wild through a nighttime LA carnival with her closest friends. It’s all candid nostalgia and neon-drenched joy, giving fans a peek into the kind of summer we all want to relive. As the second single from her forthcoming debut album, “fallin” shows Natalie at her most playful—and most relatable.

“fallin” stands out distinctly from her previous two albums, taking on an edgier twist following the impact of brat summer and the “type-B” trope we’re all beginning to love and embrace. Compared Jane’s 2024 album Sick to My Stomach, which stuck to more R&B-inspired hits and vocal-heavy ballads, the new single accepts the bitterness, anger and confusion, all the while turning it into a party.

Referred to as one of Popdust’s “Powerhouse Vocalists You Should Know,” with over 500 million global streams and a growing fanbase across TikTok (10M+) and Instagram (2.2M+), Natalie’s momentum is undeniable. “fallin” is proof that she’s not just rising—she’s already landed.
