World’s First Cinema offer another glimpse into their musical cinematic universe through their brand new single, “Broken.” The alternative-rock duo led by Fil Thorpe and John Sinclair joined forces with UK rapper JD Cliffe for the final taste of their forthcoming debut album Something of Wonder ahead of its release on July 11th.
“Broken” is a broodingly vulnerable track that explores themes of resilience, strength, and perseverance in time for Mental Health Awareness Month. The lyrics, “I won’t be shaken when the thunder breaks / I won’t lose my way,” offer comfort and security, reminding the audience that there is power in moments of weakness and sensitivity. It blends dramatic orchestral, hip-hop, and pop elements in its production that create an intense yet empowering listening experience. JD Cliffe also serves as a refreshing addition to “Broken,” with his introspective rap verses that blend seamlessly with the song’s graceful choruses.
The release of the song is accompanied by an immersive lyric video that stuns with captivating visuals. “Broken” is another great example from World’s First Cinema that shows how they continue to redefine and test the limits of genre in their artistry.
