Wallis Bird gets her groove on in new video for “Go”

Date:

In the fifteen years that Wallis Bird has been sharing her music with the world, she has captivated audiences and built a strong legacy for herself.  There are over a thousand shows, two Meteor Awards, and six albums to her name – and counting.  In a few weeks, the ambitious Irish singer-songwriter will be releasing her seventh album, HANDS, which will find Wallis confronting various personal issues from her past.  As difficult as these topics are to discuss, Wallis delivers them with “a voice uncommonly blessed with joy, ingenuity, and apathy,” making this album all the more special.  Bringing HANDS’ latest single to life, Wallis gives us a fun-loving video for “Go,” which was shot and edited on her phone.

A song about new beginnings “Go” challenges the listener to pursue possibility.  Filled with charming hooks and easy-going rhythms, the track gives off a mellow but encouraging vibe, made all the more real by Wallis’s persuasive lyrics.  Warmly, she sings, “I’ll never move on if I don’t go now / I’ll never move on if I stay in the present” and remembers that “everything lies in the distance.”  In the end, we have to try and go after what we want, even if we are unsure about the results.

In the video for “Go,” Wallis is seen getting lost in the music, closing her eyes and swaying to the beat.  As the song goes on, she busts some serious moves and even starts dancing with herself!  We are also treated to colorful animation and graphics, further enhancing the music video experience.  You can check it out below.
