Tokio Hotel gears up for new album with single “Without You”

Date:

On July 24, German powerhouse band Tokio Hotel released the 4th single off their upcoming 7th album ENCORE, out October 16 via BELIEVE. Coming 4 years after their last LP, Tokio Hotel has described ENCORE as one that “bridges nostalgia and evolution.”

The new track is called “Without You,” and it will be the second track on the upcoming record. A raw and vulnerable number, it encapsulates the listlessness and feelings of being left adrift after the fallout of a relationship. The softness of the verses over a rhythmic drum beat serves as a perfect catapult into the soul-stirring, gut-wrenching chorus. The intensity and sheer power behind the pleas for companionship and confusion as to where the relationship went wrong paint an almost cinematic image in listeners’ minds.

The accompanying music video plays off of that filmic feeling, containing several direct references to well known movies and TV shows from decades past including Sex and the City, Forrest Gump, Gladiator, and Breakfast at Tiffany’s. A cinephile’s dream, this video highlights how the song sounds fit for the big screen without compromising Tokio Hotel’s artistic vision and personal flair.
