The Quiet North has just released his latest single, “Northbound.”
“Northbound” is a calm but moving tribute to the Nordic summer, especially to the nights that never fully turn dark and the quiet light that lingers long after midnight.
The song reflects that feeling of traveling far, only to realize you are slowly returning to something essential. There is a feeling of movement both outward and inward and there is space in the production that allows for a sense of grounding. “Northbound” is full of acoustic textures, subtle atmosphere and a restrained vocal that carries emotion freely as it patiently builds into a wide hopeful chorus.
“Northbound” includes guitar and bass played by Vitaliy Kozubenko, keys by Artem Mikaielian, and mixing and mastering by Livio Volpe.
The Quiet North is the solo project of Norwegian producer Fredrik Kristiansen. Fredrik keeps his music rooted in the still clarity of Nordic days and the neon glow of Nordic nights, blending melancholic folk, ambient textures and retro-synth atmospheres into a cinematic universe.
