The Band Camino taps into the yearning recession and delivers with a punchy, poppy “HOLLY!”

Date:

Select fans of the Nashville trio The Band CAMINO received a special red rose delivery last week as the band teased the third release from the second volume of their NeverAlways record. Mimicking the feeling of the chase and pursuit of new love, “Holly!” encapsulates pure excitement.

Spencer Stewart takes on the chanty chorus while Jeffery Jordan fills in with the narrative verses, highlighted by a clever couplet: “Tell the truth, Holly, if you’re up on the fence // Come down, help me put my heart back into my chest.” Keeping things sonically interesting, as always, the song includes a signature halftime bridge, a stripped-down chorus, and an unexpected – but very appreciated – key change.

“Holly!” serves as the first track on The Band Camino’s NeverAlways (Vol. 2), following the dreamy “12:34” and their viral hit “Afterthought.” It sits in good company, with the trio delivering a triple threat of tracks ahead of the second volume of their newest album. Jeffery Jordan shares about the song:

“‘Holly!’ was a bit of a guilty pleasure for us going in and writing the classic girl’s name song. Ended up being the most fun song on the whole project. And quite obviously the song of the summer.”

The Band Camino is gearing up to support 5 Seconds of Summer on their Everyone’s a Star Tour this upcoming summer, following a wildly successful Tour Before The Tour and overseas run.
