String Machine’s “Gales of Worry” is a lovely piece of indie-rock

Date:

If you ever find yourself yearning for the aughts-era blog-rock staples that dominated the radio, Pittsburgh’s String Machine might be the band for you. The self-proclaimed “maximalist indie-folk” group has just announced their new album HALLELUJAH HELL YEAH, out on February 25th via Know Hope Records, and alongside the album announcement comes the lead single “Gales of Worry”.

“Gales of Worry” is a perfectly-constructed song that hearkens back to the heyday of bands like The New PornographersArcade Fire, and other bands that you might’ve seen at mid-day at Pitchfork Fest. It’s big, wholesome indie rock that’s a delight to listen to, which never hurts as we wind down a fairly tough year. Preorder HALLELUJAH HELL YEAH here, and watch the entertaining video directed by Raffaele DiLullo & Anthony Peduzzi for “Gales of Worry” below.
