Stinkus releases new album’s title track “i love you, trackstar”

Date:

Los Angeles-based artist Stinkus has dropped “i love you, trackstar.” The title track off his newly released album is a masterfully crafted indie pop-rock record with an uplifting message of self-compassion.

In “i love you, trackstar,” Stinkus finds the perfect mix of digital and analog instrumentation that sounds both refreshing and effortless. Meanwhile, lyrically, he is reflective yet reassuring while being honest about his struggles with self-acceptance.

About the meaning behind the song, Stinkus says:

“The song is a love letter to myself. I am hyper self-critical and suicidal, and this is both sides of me talking to myself. One side saying I’m never good enough and the other saying I’m tired and I love you for trying.”

Stinkus is a new project from artist-producer Tyler Thompson, who has amassed over 600 million streams from his work with artists such as Khatumu, girlhouse, and his own band, WILD. As a live musician, Thompson has toured with Sabrina Carpenter, Halsey, and Ingrid Michaelson, among others.
