Specific Coast releases the newest campfire tune, “Problems”

Date:

Californian indie folk artist Specific Coast has been releasing singles since 2017. Specific Coast is the solo project started by Matt Dunne, who’s had experience in just about every corner of the music industry. Dunne founded Cactus Coasts- a collaborative collective for local musicians. He’s also organized backyard shows, dabbled in artist management and music publishing. From there, he laid the foundation to kickstart his own projects. This led to Specific Coast’s music being placed on major TV shows such as Netflix’s Ginny & Georgia. He’s got some exciting music to share with us now in 2024, starting with his latest single, “Problems.”

“Problems” is a classic indie folk hit. The acoustic melody that the guitar immediately brings the listener into is enchanting. Dunne’s vocals and harmonies marry the perfect amounts of rasp and clarity. The lyrics are melancholic- they reflect on a past relationship, and compare the current emotional states of both people involved. This song is sonically reminiscent of Twin Peaks & Together Pangea’s acoustic tracks. You could listen to this song while camping in the woods, or you could listen while you cry over your ex. The range there is what makes “Problems” our new favorite rainy day song.
