SkyDxddy and Citizen Soldier Strike Emotional Chord in “Heavy”

Date:

SkyDxddy and Citizen Soldier have struck an emotional chord with their new release, “Heavy.” Garnering an impressive 100k streams on its first day, it is currently charting at #2 on iTunes Rock Charts.

SkyDxddy sets the tone with raw vulnerability from the beginning of the track. “You don’t like who I’ve become / Only want me when I’m numb.” These lines grapple with inner demons and the societal pressures to mask true emotions. Her distinctive voice and lyrics reaffirming why she has quickly established herself as a star in the music scene.

Jake Segura of Citizen Soldier complements SkyDxddy’s intensity with his own heartfelt verse: “Avoid me when I’m vulnerable / My story makes you so uncomfortable.” This line underscores the emotional isolation that often accompanies mental health struggles. Segura’s background as a clinical therapist is evident in the song’s lyrics, providing a sense of therapeutic sound for listeners who have faced similar challenges.

“Heavy” features a compelling bridge where both artists lay bare their fears: “Don’t want anyone to drown with me / I’ll lose everyone if I’m not fake / I’d rather die than let you see me break.” SkyDxddy and Citizen Soldier have reminded us that sometimes struggles can feel too heavy to bear, sharing our truths can also be a path to healing and solidarity.
