Woeful yet elegant, “Red Eyes” represents the highs and lows of being close to someone in this day and age. Over light piano riffs, Saleka sheds insecurities through lines like, “I’m just another flame you love to play with” and “Maybe if I was a more steady person / I wouldn’t be constantly searching for security.” She also, however, acknowledges her need for love by singing, “I wouldn’t mind / If you stay here tonight,” her voice full of conviction.
