Sabrina Carpenter’s Short ‘n Sweet show tour has just celebrated its second Halloween in New York City at the MSG. The second ‘Short and Spooky’ show saw ghoulish pranks, a rotation of costumes and a horror icon making a surprise appearance.

After the usual pre-show video Carpenter revealed a 70s inspired Wonder Women costume sparkling with the singers usual GoGo boots and glitter. The nights first trick then took place when the singer was seemingly pranked by her crew by a boo ghost covering her microphone. In another fun twist, all of the dancers came out in the opening number “Taste” in their own individual costumes including Ash from Pokemon, Storm from the X-Men and Jessie from Toy Story. The stage was decorated for the night, with cobwebs in the set pieces and bloody handprints along the walls. Finishing the first act of the show was “Bed Chem” as Carpenter ran off stage to change for her second costume for the night.

As the intro for “Feather” started, the singer stepped out in a Barbie costume from the 2024 film, making reference to the bridge of her song “Manchild” by saying “Hi Ken” to her audience. Her surprise song for the night was, of course another reference to the costume with the 90s hit “Barbie Girl” by Aqua. Other songs from the act included “House Tour” from the recently released Mans Best Friend and the upbeats “Busy Women” and “Nonsense.”

In the final act of the show, Carpenter wore a Fred Flintstones inspired costume, stepping out for “Dumb and Poetic.” In her surprise arrest before “Juno,” Carpenter caught the attention of Ghost-face from the ‘Scream’ franchise. The masked arrestee soon revealed herself to be none other than Drew Barrymore who starred in the first Scream in 1996. For the infamous “Juno” pose, the singer made a visual gag of the Flintstones bone. Carpenter finished the third act with “Don’t Smile” before coming back on stage to perform “Espresso” as an encore.
The Short ‘n’ Sweet show is set to continue its fall leg in North America with another show in the Madison Square Gardens tonight (November 1st) before heading to Nashville and Toronto. All shows are sold out but you can join the waiting list here.
