Producer MarMar Teams Up With Arnii On New Track “Stay”

Date:

MarMar, the talented American/French producer, is back with “Stay” featuring the hauntingly beautiful vocals of Australian artist arnii.

Inspired by the positive reception to his recent Feel Okay EP, MarMar has been hard at work in the studio, preparing a collection of new songs set to be released soon. Kicking off this wave of fresh music, “Stay” is a track that MarMar describes as one of his favorite instrumentals he’s created in a while. The instrumental is built around an unconventional detuned monochord idea, perfectly reflecting MarMar’s characteristic and unique atmospheric style.

MarMar shared his thoughts on the creation of “Stay”:

“It’s definitely a step outside what I’ve been making recently. I wrote the idea based on this detuned monochord concept I’ve been inspired by this year, and then sent it over to arnii to write a story around it. We wanted to tell a tale about wishing someone would stay in your life, even when things feel too complicated to continue.”

arnii’s ethereal vocals, enhanced by the subtle use of autotune, perfectly complement the atmospheric production. Her storytelling shares the complexities of love and longing for someone who might not be good for you. As arnii explains:

“Stay is a song about the process of falling out of love and missing someone even though you know they’re no good for you. It’s about all the pieces that make up a person and the strange parts that you miss when you’re not together anymore.”

The combination of MarMar’s innovative production and arnii’s captivating lyricism creates a beautiful soundscape. “Stay” pushes the boundaries of what we’ve come to expect from MarMar, and as you listen to the song, you’ll find yourself drawn into its ethereal world, where every note and lyric tells a story of its own.
