Australian indie-folk storyteller Portair has teamed up with Nashville’s singer-songwriter Mokita on his newest single, “Overnight,” a fusion of indie folk, folktronica, and indie pop.
As a songwriter and producer, Portair’s work has subtly seeped into the backdrop of popular culture with placements on networks like Netflix, NBC, MTV, and CBS.
Portair explains that he and Mokita first connected back when he was new to Nashville, bonding over music and creative drive. Years later, fate reunited them after they discovered they were on the same label, and “Overnight” was born out of a long Zoom write-session, followed by further refinement in person.
Portair shares,
“Mokita and I initially connected many years ago when I first moved to Nashville and instantly hit it off… Mokita is a true talent, and our ideas molded so smoothly together, I’m so excited for this song to see the light of day after so many years.”
On the track Mokita adds, “We’ve known each other for years, but this was the first time we had worked together in a long time… Drew is a talented friend, and I’m pumped to have this song out with him.”
“Overnight” marks a special moment in Portair’s artistic journey into the spotlight and is available wherever you stream music.
