Number_i release “U.M.A.” ahead of ‘No.II’ release, announce tour dates

Date:

Following a year of record-breaking streaming numbers, sold-out shows, and a buzzworthy U.S. festival debut, Japanese pop trio Number_i, comprised of Sho Hirano, Yuta Jinguji, and Yuta Kishi, are entering a bold new chapter. On August 11, they released “U.M.A.” (Japanese title: 未確認領域 / Mikakunin Ryōiki), the lead single from their upcoming sophomore album No.Ⅱ, due out September 22, 2025 via TOBE.

“U.M.A.” is an ambitious fusion of J-pop, R&B, hip-hop, and dance-pop, elevated by live instrumental recordings. The trio blends Japanese verses with English hooks, a choice that enhances the track’s global appeal. The song’s title which is an abbreviation for “Unidentified Mysterious Area, ”is as much a statement of creative intent as it is a metaphor for the band’s current trajectory.

Since debuting with “GOAT” on January 1, 2024, and their first album No.Ⅰ topping the Billboard Japan Albums chart and landing at #4 on Spotify’s Top Albums Debut Global chart, their second EP GOD_i also made a major splash too by earning 3.1 million streams on release day, surpassing 61 million cumulative streams, and placing all six of its tracks in the Top 20 on Billboard Japan.

The release of No.Ⅱ on September 22 is set to usher in a new phase for the group. TOBE has confirmed the Number_i LIVE TOUR 2025 No.Ⅱ, starting October 11 at the Makomanai Sekisui Heim Ice Arena in Hokkaido.
