Ready to show their most authentic and truest selves, Toronto-based alternative hip-hop duo Lyan Paris has released their newest single (and certified summer banger) titled “Drugs Don’t Lie.”
The duo, consisting of friends Luke Marshall and Ryan Goulding, have been making music together for more than a decade, amassing millions of views on TikTok and streams on Spotify. Their 2021 debut single “Dimes” earned over 3 millions streams on Spotify alone. The duo aims to shine light on the reflective ups and downs of life in your teens and young adulthood, mental health struggles, and more. True to this mission, they deliver the most authentically relatable, vulnerable, and addictive tracks to their audiences.
In a press release, the duo elaborated on “Drugs Don’t Lie”:
“We wrote this song with fellow Canadian singer/songwriter Jutes during our first ever trip to LA as independent artists. It was always our favorite tune from that trip, but we never got around to finishing it up. Fast forward a couple years, and we decided it was finally time to get this one out… We were inspired by 2000’s and 2010’s throwback alternative pop music and songs like Everybody Talks and Animals by Neon Trees, Tongue Tied by Grouplove, and even The Strokes, for example. We really wanted this song to sound like a memory from a wild night out, or a time where a few too many drinks may have gotten you into trouble in some way (‘everybody knows how you’re feeling when you drink too much’).”
Many more songs like this one are expected from Lyan Paris. You don’t want to miss out on their journey to success!
