Daniel Arison releases painfully introspective new track “sad”

Date:

Singer-songwriter Daniel Arison has recently dropped his newest single “sad.”

At its core, “sad” explores the aftermath of a sudden and cutting interaction with a friend who, paradoxically, was never deeply embedded in Daniel’s life.

Daniel shares more about the heart-breaking event that inspired the track:

“It was an intense situation I had with a so-called friend. Out of nowhere, he spoke to me in a way no one ever had before — and for something I didn’t even do. He said things that cut so deep they changed the relationship completely.”

What lingers in the song isn’t just the pain of the moment, but also the confusion that follows. Despite the emotional distance that once defined the relationship, the fallout felt disproportionate: almost like grief.

Daniel explains the aftermath of the fractured relationship:

“After that, I couldn’t look at him the same. The strange part is… we were never even that close. But it still felt like I was losing someone. And my first thought was: ‘why am I sad?’ I never really had this person to begin with — so why does it feel like I lost him?”

“sad” is a testament to Daniel’s deep introspection and emotional honesty as an artist, endearing him to fans across the globe. As an independent artist, Daniel continues to carve out his own lane in the pop and alt-pop space, consistently building an organic global fanbase through honest songwriting and relatable themes.
