Bleachers “the van” music video builds into a shared moment

Bleachers have released the official music video for “the van,” the third single from their upcoming album everyone for ten minutes, out May 22 via Dirty Hit, and it centers on a performance that slowly expands beyond the room it starts in.

Directed by Alex Lockett with creative direction from Patricia Villirillo, the video opens with Jack Antonoff shaving his head before the rest of the band begins loading their gear into a small room to play. The outdoor set matches the one used in “you and forever,” tying the two visuals together as the scene builds.

Antonoff joins the band and starts the song, while the focus shifts outside. Evan Smith and others look out from their windows as people begin walking in sync toward the center of the town. What starts as scattered movement turns into a coordinated routine, with a wide mix of people moving together—something Antonoff said “goes out to everyone who feels at home in that place.”

Looking out again, Antonoff sees the group gathered tightly, posed together, before they begin heading inside. One by one, they fill the room with the band, packing in closely. Some close their eyes, others sway slightly, all focused on the music as it continues.

By the end, the room clears out. Antonoff stands in the center while Smith plays harmonica, and the crowd exits, heading back down the stairs and out of the space, returning the video to where it began. It lands on a quieter note, keeping the focus on the feeling that’s been building throughout rather than pushing for anything bigger, and letting that sense of shared moment carry through to the final shot.
